Luned rhys parri biography of michael jordan

Luned Rhys Parri's work is always filled with warmth and humour. While making us smile, and while creating that warm glow inside, she is deft and observant enough to catch the telling details which allow us into her characters' world: A world that is uniquely Welsh, and may be fast disappearing. Her benevolent whimsy is shot through with a keen awareness of the passing of time, and the fragility of the things which once lost or squandered, can never be retrieved. She reminds us to look after the small things, and to remember.

She evokes quintessential everyday occurrences in Wales in her wonderful, quirky, three-dimensional images. Often based on memory of the countryside and towns of Wales in her childhood, Luned loves handling simple materials such as tinfoil, cardboard, paper and wire - these are combined with a painterly surface to create a unique image of tender wit and humour.

Luned has won numberous awards and has shown many times in Wales and on a national basis. She has also lead workshops with young people in many institutions, festivals and schools. Experiences which have regularly brought her into contact with new people and personalities

Joint exhibition by artists Luned Rhys Parri and Mihangel Jones at Llanrwst gallery

Multi-talented artist Luned Rhys Parri and colourful painter Mihangel Jones are to stage a joint exhibition at the Ffin y Parc art gallery near Llanrwst .

The joint show from the two Royal Cambrian Academy members opens on Sunday, March 6 and continues until March

Luned has created a collection of new work full of warmth and humour with three-dimensional characters brought to life and literally jumping out the frames.

Luned is one of the late Peter Prendergast ’s many successful and well-known pupils and she works from her studio near Caernarfon, creating sculptures out of paper and mixed media.

Of her work she said: “I live just on the outskirts of Dyffryn Nantlle and it’s an old mining village with plenty for me to look at and draw inspiration from and there’s also my nearest town Caernarfon, who’s people end up turned into my eccentric figures.”

“I look mainly at women’s clothes and how old ladies put their outfits together, also while growing up I spent a lot of time with my two grandmothers and it was their recycling ways which have inspired some of the materials I use now.”

Gyda gwaith mewn casgliadau yn Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru a CADW, mae Luned Rhys Parri yn prysur ennill cydnabyddiaeth fel un o artistiaid mwyaf enwog a gwreiddiol Cymru.

Yn gweithio o’i stiwdio yn y Groeslon, Gwynedd, mae ei gweithiau cyffrous mewn amlgyfrwng a phapur mewn cynghrair eu hunain.

Mae celf Luned yn llythrennol yn camu allan o’r ffrâm mewn ffrwydrad terfysglyd o lawenydd sy’n teimlo ‘ar y foment’ ac yn hiraethus ar yr un pryd. Mae bywiogrwydd, hiwmor ac atgof yn plethu i greu rhywbeth ffres a ffyrnig sydd heb os, yn Gymreig.

Yn gyn-ddisgybl i’r diweddar Peter Prendergast, mae gweithiau beiddgar Luned wastad wedi denu dotiau coch ym Mhlas Glyn y Weddw. Mae’n hawdd deall sut mae ei dathliadau o Gymru a’i phobl, cyffredin ac anghyffredin, yn cael eu cipio gan gasglwyr o Gymru a thu hwnt.

Mae yna gyfoeth a chynefindra i’w chymeriadau, rhai sy’n trigo yng Nghymru y gorffennol efallai: cyfle i ail-werthuso’r harddwch a’r hiwmor a anwybyddir yn y genhedlaeth hŷn, ein dodrefn, ein ffasiynau, ein hadeiladau dadfeiliedig. Rhoddir dealltwriaeth newydd i olygfeydd bob dydd anymddiheuriadol, gyda'r gallu i wneud i'r rhai sy'n dilyn ac
